Particle Theory Journal Club

Technische Universität Dortmund

Wednesdays at 16.00 in P1-O2-323

The particle theory journal club is an informal series of talks/discussions concerning the theoretical and phenomenological aspects of particle physics. The main focus is on recent, interesting or controversial topics in high energy physics.

The atmosphere of the sessions is supposed to be free and relaxed. Please feel free to drink coffee/tea during the seminar! One of the goals of the series is to have informal discussions about various current issues. You are invited to make suggestions for topics. If, during the week, you find some interesting article, please send Jari an e-mail, so we could talk about it next week.

A talk including discussion should not take more than an hour, and should be preferably presented on the blackboard, but e-presentations are welcome, too. If you have questions or feedback, please contact the organizers!

You are warmly welcome!

Rules

  1. Journal club is not an exam. The presentation is a favor from you to the audience.
  2. No one expects you to know everything
  3. Don't expect the others to know anything
  4. It's perfectly ok, if you have to say "I don't know".
Someone else will answer, or then they don't know either.
  5. Presentation can be also more general than a single article
  6. Do not prepare the talk for a whole week. A night before will do.
